About the Girit Salmon Turkish Towel — Sizes, Uses & Care ▾
Wide salmon stripes on a cream cotton–linen ground, finished with hand-knotted fringe. It is the softest colour in the Girit line — warm enough to lift a plain bathroom, muted enough that it does not fight with whatever is already in the room.
Why a peshtemal instead of a terry towel
- Dries in a fraction of the time. A flat weave carries far less water than looped terry, so it air-dries between uses rather than sitting damp on the rail.
- Folds to almost nothing. Roughly a quarter the bulk of a terry bath sheet — it fits hand luggage or a beach bag without filling it.
- Sand brushes off. There is no pile for grit to work into.
- Better with every wash. Linen breaks in rather than wearing out, and absorbency rises over the first several cycles.
Two sizes
- Bath/Beach 37'' x 73'' — a full bath sheet for one adult, long enough to cover a sun lounger.
- Hand/Tea 23'' x 30'' — bathroom rail, kitchen, gym bag, or wrapped around wet hair.
Care
Wash before first use to set the weave. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no bleach and no fabric softener — softener coats cotton and linen and works against the absorbency you bought it for. Wash with like colours for the first couple of cycles.
