About the Girit Lilac Turkish Towel — Sizes, Uses & Care ▾
Wide lilac stripes on cream cotton and linen, finished with fringe knotted in both tones. A soft, cool colour that reads closer to lavender than to purple — the one to reach for when a bathroom needs lifting without going bright.
Why a peshtemal instead of a terry towel
- Dries between uses. Flat-woven rather than looped, so it carries a fraction of the water terry does.
- Takes up almost no space. Folds to a quarter of the bulk of a terry bath sheet — a real difference in small cupboards and packed cases.
- Sand and grit brush off. There is no pile for them to catch in.
- Improves with washing. Linen softens as it breaks in and absorbency rises over the first several cycles.
Sizes
- Bath/Beach 37'' x 73'' — a full bath sheet, long enough to cover a sun lounger.
- Hand/Hair 23'' x 30'' — bathroom rail, kitchen, gym bag, or a hair wrap.
- Bath & Hand Set — both sizes together, priced below the two bought separately.
Care
Wash before first use. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no bleach and no fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and cuts absorbency. Wash with like colours for the first couple of cycles to keep the lilac from dulling.
