About the Cunda Turkish Towel — Uses, Sizes & Care ▾
Named for the Aegean island, the Cunda carries the warmest palette we weave: a natural oatmeal ground crossed by terracotta, rust and charcoal stripes. It reads as sun-faded rather than bright, which is why it sits comfortably against stone, timber and sand.
Built for the beach, good enough for the bathroom
- Sand does not stick. A flat weave has no pile for grit to bury itself in — shake it out and it is clean.
- Dries between swims. It holds far less water than terry, so it does not turn heavy and sour in a beach bag.
- Packs flat. Two of these take less space than one terry bath sheet.
- Softens with use. The linen breaks in and the weave opens up, absorbing more with every wash.
One towel, several jobs
At 37'' x 73'' it works as a full bath sheet, a lounger cover, a beach blanket for one, a picnic throw, or a shawl over a shoulder on a cool evening. The warm stripe also makes it a credible sofa throw at home.
Care
Wash before first use. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no bleach and no fabric softener — softener coats the fibres and cuts absorbency. Wash with like colours for the first couple of cycles so the terracotta stays saturated.
