About the Beykoz Turkish Towel — Uses, Sizes & Care ▾
The Beykoz takes its palette from the Bosphorus: a cream cotton–linen ground with bands of teal, mustard and charcoal, and a fringe hand-knotted in the same colours. It has more colour than our natural weaves without tipping into loud — the stripes stay narrow and the ground stays calm.
What a peshtemal does better
- Dries between uses. Flat-woven rather than looped, so it holds a fraction of the water terry does.
- Folds to almost nothing. Easy to pack, easy to store, easy to carry two instead of one.
- Sand shakes off. Nothing for grit to hide in.
- Gets softer with washing. Linen breaks in over the first several cycles and absorbency goes up, not down.
Where it works
A full bath sheet at 37'' x 73'', long enough for a sun lounger, wide enough for a beach blanket or picnic throw. The colour also earns it a place as a sofa throw or a table runner once it comes back from the coast.
Care
Wash before first use. Cool wash, tumble dry low, no bleach and no fabric softener. Wash with like colours for the first couple of cycles so the teal and mustard stay true.
